Course Design This course is designed for students who want to create an 'outdoor room' for their garden, terrace or balcony.
Structure Courses
take place in the working environment of a design studio with
all resources nearby. The
classes are theory and workshop based and students are encouraged to develop a design through the evening using
the principles of Garden Design to unleash innate design flair and
improve analysis and appreciation of both good design, style and use of
materials.
Topics covered include :
Scale, volume and perception
Garden planning
How to give a garden structure
Colour, texture, light
Hard and soft landscape
Course Summary An introduction to Garden Design looking to create an 'outdoor room' using hard and soft landscaping to develop a palette of materials and plants. It is
also suitable as a ‘taster’ for those considering applying for a
formal garden or landscape design course.
